TORCH
Torch Dance Collective (TDC) was founded on February 24, 2018, in Baltimore, Maryland, initially as a series of heels classes. By October of the same year, it quickly transformed into a thriving dance company of 40+ talented dancers, specializing in heels, hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, and more.
ABOUT DIRECTOR
Brittany “Blaze” Elize, a Baltimore native, discovered her love for the arts at the tender age of 3. She began her dance journey at Towson University Community Dance and Flair Studios, where she honed her skills until the age of 7. At 10, Brittany expanded her artistic repertoire to acting and modeling, which led to her signing with the prestigious Kids International Agency. This opened doors for opportunities such as modeling for the Washington DC Newseum and appearing in the 2011 Showtime film Win Win.
Upon enrolling at Western High School in Baltimore, Brittany set her sights on joining the WHS “Fashionettes” and the WHS Dance Team, both under the mentorship of Lori Goodman. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for creative direction and leadership, qualities that would shape her future.
Though Brittany was accepted into renowned institutions like AMDA and Howard University, she chose to pursue a degree in Business Psychology. Her goal was clear: to one day establish a dance company centered on the mental health and well-being of its members, staff, and supporters. In 2018, just months before earning her undergraduate degree, Brittany founded Torch Dance Co., a testament to her vision and dedication.

Torch Dance Collective serves as the umbrella organization for our sister companies, Sizzle and La Flamme. At TDC headquarters, we proudly house our competition teams for children, juniors, and adults. You can experience the energy of TDC at various dance competitions across the East Coast and at our annual showcase.
